Fee Policy

 

Although there are 2 seasons for competitive swimming—long course and short course—the team fee structure has been divided into 3 sessions.  Sessions, with regard to fees, are based on one third of the year.  

            Session 1                     September 1 to December 31

            Session 2                     January 1 to April 30

            Session 3                     May 1 to August 30 

These sessions follow the swim seasons.  Session 1 and 2 correspond roughly to the short course (indoor) season and session 3 the long course (outdoor) season.  There are usually breaks from swimming after the long and short course state meets (typically March and August).  The Board with approval from the Parents, sets the fees in conjunction with the yearly budget.   Monthly payments are permitted for the convenience of our parents.  The session fees may be prorated for NEW families.  The current fee structure, as adopted by the Parents in April 2009,  is as follows:

You may pay your complete session fee at the beginning of the session, or you may opt for the monthly fee.  

Multiple Swimmers.  If there are multiple swimmers in the same family, the first 2 swimmers will be charged the full rate.  Each additional swimmer in the same or lower swim group will receive a 50% discount on swim fees.  To clarify, fees for the first  2  swimmers in the highest level group will be at 100% and additional swimmers in the same or lower groups will be 50% (except Novice level swimmers).

 All swim team fees are on a month to month basis.  As the Racers' billing software prepares statements on the 21st of the month for the following month. After the 15th of the month, you will be charged for the following month.  For example, if your swimmer will not be swimming in the month of June, you must notify the treasurer by May 15th to prevent being billed for June. The fees may then be prorated based upon when they join the team.  The Board may also prorate fees based upon individual requests (injury, leaving area, etc.).


Other Fees.  Other fees include annual USA Swimming dues.  This fee is currently $51 per calendar year.  It is required by USA Swimming to cover insurance costs and are paid directly to USA Swimming.  We cannot swim without this insurance.  As a service to our members, the Racers collect these fees and forward them to USA Swimming as a group.  

An annual family fee of $75 is charged at the beginning of Session 1.  This fee includes costs of advertisement, equipment, meet expenses, coaches travel and Team Unify.  

Any account not paid by the 10th of the month, will be charged a $10 late fee.  Additionally, any accounts which are 30+ days past due will result in the child(ren) inelligable to swim until paid in full.

Volunteerism is critical to the success of this program. Therefore a 20 hour per session per family requirement is applied.  Volunteer hours can be accumulated in many ways; see handbook for other opportunities.  In the event a family DOES NOT accumulate the minimum amount of hours, a $10 00 per hour charge will be applied to your account.
