Rapid City Racers Scholarship
The Rapid City Racer Scholarship
is a program that has been created to assist children in need
of financial aid to join the Racers.. The Scholarship provides
for full or partial payment of monthly dues for qualified children.
In addition, a team swim suit, cap, and goggles will be
provided. Entry fees for all RCR hosted swim meets will
also be covered. Depending upon the Scholarship Fund, travel
costs to out of town meets may also be covered.
Children who qualify for free or
reduced school meals are eligible for the scholarship. In
addition, all scholarship children must meet the basic requirements
to join the team. To maintain scholarship eligibility,
swimmers must attend at least 75% of practices for their group and
complete parental volunteer team requirements.
Scholarships are awarded based
on the above criteria and funded on availability.
The Racers age requirement is age 6 to 18. Younger children will be
considered on a case by case basis.
The
Scholarship fund is funded in part by community
donations.
